New York!

Don't wanna be vacationing in the Big Apple now!

"With union leaders under mounting pressure to end New York's transit strike, negotiations with the union and the Metropolitan Transportation Authority returned early Thursday to the hotel where talks had been held before the walkout."

"Groups of commuters huddled at designated areas to be picked up by company vans or buses or prearranged car pools. The scarves, hats and warm coats were back paired with running shoes or hiking boots."

Apparently in NY, public employees don't have the right strike. That's why this one is called illegal. So, if they can't strike, what is their union good for? Isn't a union generally for organizing a strike if negotiations fail? How come having a union for them is not illegal?

There's one in London on the New Year day...mmmm errr or maybe on the New Year Eve. A full day London underground strike. Sounds fun! I'll be in Lisbon then ;)

I have to bid my goodbyes and well wishings for a very merry christmas and new year to you and hope to see you again in 2006.

Cheers,
Jackal!
